Recent findings from a BambooHR employee satisfaction survey have highlighted the construction sector as the happiest industry. The tangible satisfaction received from witnessing physical creations rise from the ground continues to attract individuals seeking promising careers and a sense of accomplishment. While these benefits are often apparent internally, the public may overlook the contributions of those working behind the scenes.
One company that can testify to this is BELFOR Property Restoration of White Plains/Westchester, which had four women nominated and awarded as “Unsung Heroes” in the industry. This recognition was given by the Building Owners and Managers Association of Westchester County, NY (BOMA).
Traditionally, BOMA's annual 'Best of BOMA, Westchester County Signature Award' has recognized high standards of excellence in building operations, maintenance, and construction. However, this year, BOMA Westchester shifted focus to honor the significant contributions of women in the industry as “Unsung Heroes.” This change highlights the vital roles women have played, often unnoticed, in maintaining and enhancing the construction and reconstruction fields.
At a recent gala, BOMA Westchester celebrated these women, acknowledging their hard work and dedication. This recognition not only changes the status quo but also brings to light the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the efforts of all individuals contributing to the construction industry.
